On February 1, 1968 as constituted by the National Defence Act the Canadian Armed forces were formed in order to unify the institutions of defence based on sea, land, and air. It stated that “ The Canadian Forces are the armed forces of Her Majesty raised by Canada and consist of one Service called the Canadian Armed Forces.” With an active personnel of 68,250 and 32,00 in reserves it holds the 26th spot for the largest armed forces.

Personnel may include soldiers from the Regular Force or Reserve Force which include 4 of the subcomponents: Primary Reserve, Supplementary, Cadet Organizations Administration and Training Service and the Canadian Rangers. Separate from the Department of National Defence both exists in order to provide support for the civilians. Just like the USA with a Commander-in-Chief  Canada has their own with the reigning Canadian Monarch,Queen Elizabeth 2, who is represented by the Governor General of Canada. But the lead Advisors of the Forces are the Chief of the Defence Staff, who is advised and assisted by the Armed Forces Council.

Last year during the Reunion Weekend of 2017 RMC, Royal Military College,  hosted the event in which Past, Present, and New Officer cadets were formally united, while participating in traditional activities of the RMC.
