Black Friday the day after Thanksgiving, is a annual event
where most major retailers open very early, as early as overnight hours, and offer promotional sales since 1952. However, as convincing as that sounds there’s also thousands of people wanting the same product or items you are hounding. Therefore, people go to the extent of camping outside these retailers so they can obtain their desired item beforehand, opposed to other people who’d rather wait the last minute. As of a result Black Friday has become the busiest shopping day of the year.In fact ever since 2011, some retailers like; Target, Macy’s, Best Buy, etc, opened at midnight for the first time. In 2000, people had to wait ’till 6:00 a.m. for retailers to open.

In addition, Cyber Monday falls on the Monday after the Thanksgiving
holiday and Black Friday. Cyber Monday was created by marketing companies to induce people to shop online to allow customers to shop freely. Cyber Monday is mainly popular due to the fact that 75 percent of shoppers dive in first thing Monday morning. In fact, retailers like Walmart, Target, and Amazon start cyber week sales on Thanksgiving Day itself. This year, Cyber Monday online sales grew to a record $6.59 billion, compared with $2.98 billion in 2015 and $2.65 in 2014.
