Music in any form is beautiful for countless reasons. I find it particularly extraordinary how even the most simple of artists, artists that some would consider beginners, are able to create their own unique and somehow catchy melodies. However, after having watched these young amazing students from Colburn school I realized that music changes entirely; it carries a completely different sound when you hear it from artists who have so much passion in bringing music to people’s ears. That is the reason why my trip to LACMA will always be an unforgettable experience.

In the event I found students from many different schools, from different backgrounds come together as a unified community. Enjoying different types of music, composed by hundreds of different people. It was truly a thrilling experience, and a pleasant story to witness unfold.

Within the time period I visited, I remember seeing an absurd amount of instruments that I didn’t even know existed. Each carried their own unique names and sounds, which if i didn’t write the name of I would otherwise forget.

One of the more memorable instruments played at the event was an instrument called a Bassoon. I would describe it as a flute like instrument that produces sounds very similar to a bass. This instrument really caught my attention because of the peculiar feeling of vibrations that travel through your body as it’s being played. This instrument made the trip to LACMA all the more worth seeing and along with the many other unique instruments played there.

Overall, my experience at this event was truly one of a kind. I truly believe that even if I were to travel to hundreds of different music events, none would have the same effect as this LACMA event. I would give it a resounding 9/10 especially because it was also free to participate in the event. However, a point was docked off, because it felt very short, only lasting an hour, and even if it may sound unfair, there was no food…
